A great way to spend an afternoon in Florence is
to take in the sights and sounds of the
Pee Dee Cyclones hockey team.
The Florence Regional Airport is a proud supporter of the Pee Dee Cyclones. Games are played regularly at the
Florence
Civic Center, conveniently located at the intersections of
Interstates 20 and 95. Also playing in the
Florence Civic Center is the newly formed indoor football team, the
Florence Phantoms.
The Florence Phantoms inaugural season will be the 2006/07 season. The
Florence Regional Airport wishes good luck for the Florence Phantoms.
America's Pastime is alive and well in Florence with the Florence Red
Wolves "baseball the way it ought to be". As a college summer
baseball team of the Coastal Plain League, the Red Wolves give
college-level players a chance to showcase their talent for professional
scouts, improve their skills and gain experience in a minor league
atmosphere. From June to August, the American Legion Park adjacent to
Memorial Stadium hosts America's favorite pastime, and Florence fans
cheer on their hometown team.
These leisure activities are just many of the few; visit the Greater
Florence Chamber of Commerce's website to see the rest of the great
things to do and see in Florence, South Carolina.
